Meet the Stumborgs

Drew and Wendi Stumborg were born and raised from farming families in Saskatchewan. Drew grew up in Humboldt, and always knew he wanted to care for people. He completed his nursing degree at Brock University in St Catherines, Ontario. After graduation he worked in a dementia ward, then long term care, medicine, cardiology end eventually Home Care. For the last 5 years he has been a Clinical Nurse Educator in home care focusing on palliative care and chronic disease management. Wendi grew up in Regina and moved to Saskatoon to pursue a career in health care. She loved Obstetrics from her first rotation there and also travelled to Tanzania in her fourth year of school to learn about community nursing in developing countries. Wendi and Drew love to travel, visit with friends and play with their kids. Their children Aurora (7), Behati (4) and Isla (2) keep them busy with dance and activities.

Owning a care home feels like a natural collision of many interests: contributing to community, nursing care, and instilling an appreciation for hard work into their children. Prairie Spring Care Home expresses these values in the attention Wendi and Drew give to their tenants and their health care needs, the effort into communication with families, the extra training and learning opportunities they offer their staff and the above average care they provide.

Harris' Hope Foundation

Since 2016, Drew and Wendi Stumborg have spent countless hours pursuing meaning for their son's life. They have dreamed and studied and volunteered and always felt it would lead here - to giving back.

In February 2021 they were so excited to announce their partnership with Jim Pattison's Children's Hospital to give back in their own backyard. There are so many amazing families and organizations contributing to Perinatal loss in Saskatoon, but they need more help to keep going.

Drew and Wendi's goal is to raise $30,000 to provide resources for Perinatal loss families on the Maternal Services floor of the Jim Pattison Children's Hospital. This will provide an opportunity to be there for families in Saskatoon by providing equipment and resources so that every family has the things that they had while going their their loss. They had endless support, memory making supplies, spiritual support, counselling, time off work, meals, etc.
